Eaton recently introduced additional sizes of LifeSense wire-braid hydraulic hose. Spiral wire hose will be available in 2014. Eaton’s LifeSense Hydraulic Hose uses sensors to predict potential problems, helping equipment operators to replace their hydraulic hoses at just the right time.

According to Eaton, as the hose assembly approaches the end of its useful life, LifeSense™ detects events occurring within the hose that have been shown to lead to failure and then notifies a designated individual, this notification is provided with enough time to replace the hose during planned maintenance prior to failure, thus reducing downtime, cleanup costs, environmental damage and potential injury.
